CAI is seeking a Adabas Developer. This is a 100% remote opportunity. Our client is based in Florida, so you must be able to work EST hours. 


Duties & Responsibilities


The Senior Programmer/Analyst’s role is to lead and participate in activities of creating, testing, analyzing, and maintaining program code; strong operational background, ability to understand the processes to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues; provide technical and analytical support; mentor junior programmers; define and document technical documents; provide quality assurance review of code; good written and verbal communication skills; provide knowledge transfer to customer and team that will be necessary to maintain procedural requirements. In short, an experienced mainframe developer who is proactive, can troubleshoot effectively, understands development best-practices, and follow documented processes.


Qualifications


  • MVS Mainframe experience and good skills in ISPF, IOF, and TSO
  • JCL - with a good understanding of jobs and programs
  • Analytical/Troubleshooting experience
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good documentation skills
  • Works well with others
  • Proactive with identifying / implementing process improvements
  • Professional demeanor to work with all customers
  • NATURAL experience
  • Adabas experience
  • CA7 experience


Highly Desired Skills


  • COBOL experience a plus
  • REXX experience a plus


Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor.
