Course Summary

The scenario unfolds over 4 consecutive days (Monday through Thursday) through daily Zoom webinars and online homework on the NACo Higher Logic platform. Each day brings new developments in the scenario and requires participants to adapt their response strategies in real-time.

  • Day 1 (Monday) provides scenario orientation.
  • Day 2 (Tuesday) addresses discovery and initial response.
  • Day 3 (Wednesday) covers breach investigation and expanding complications.
  • Day 4 (Thursday) focuses on recovery and AI governance. The scenario includes integrated complications: discovery of systemic shadow IT use, employee union response, media investigation, AI data retrieval incidents, and political criticism.

Participants will identify data governance gaps, review or create AI usage policies, establish data classification procedures, clarify departmental roles, and develop communication protocols for stakeholders.
